Skittles: Queer Joy
GAY TIMES joined forces with SKITTLES® with a multi-faceted campaign. The concept is Queer Joy – defined as the deep happiness that brings warmth and purpose to queer lives - is an important antidote to the negative portrayal of the LGBTQ+ community in media recently. Alongside Queer Britain and Getty Images, we ran two exhibitions on Queer Joy, firstly a three day pop-up in Liverpool during Eurovision, then, for three months over the summer, at the Outside Art Project in Kings Cross, London. The aim is to shine a light on the unfiltered, queer self-expression that is vital to the community and highlight the feeling of Queer Joy. The campaign is designed to ensure the archives of tomorrow are as diverse, representative and inclusive as they should be.
